i officially have an appointment for orientation/ assessment this friday morning. the counseling office is open for walk in so i'll go talk to them and that will complete my matriculation services needs and i'll be able to sign up for classes. after reading some stuff about the counseling i discovered i won't be able to get a student education plan until after the registration period ends. but i think that shouldn't really be a problem. i can just take basics.

i learned some things about unemployment too. and this kind of scares me. i guess there is a set amount of money that you can get from unemployment. so instead of just the time constraints you can't get any more money than you've paid in. so say you've paid in $5,000 and you get $450 every week you would really only get 2.7 months of pay. i guess they give you a paper in the beginning telling you how much money you have available. also learned that if you're going to school to get a better job you can have the time extended for another 6 months. not sure if that still comes out of your pay in pot but i assume it would. also you're required to put up a resume on the edd web site or something.

so i don't know what my job plan is now. i had originally planned on trying for city dispatch jobs. but a) I'm not sure i could get one on account of my attendance here being so horrible. b) I'm dead set on this school zoology thing finally happening. most city dispatch jobs are rotating shifts so there is really no way to go to school while working there. so i don't know what's going to happen, what I'm going to do. i figure worst case scenario i have to move back home. i get a little crappy part time job to pay for gas or bart other little normal needs and commute to school in berkeley. best case scenario i find a job that i can pay rent on that is local and i can work my volunteering and school stuff around it. but i have no idea what that job might be. any one know if vet reseptionist jobs pay very well? maybe i can find a room mate or something. even though i don't know any one and i have dogs, kind of unruly dogs.

*later*
according to salary.com vet assistants in my area make about 30,000 a year. right now i make 35, 000 so i think that with all my bills paid off i might be abel to live on that. i'm not really qualified but it says that all you need is a high school diploma. i've got one of those. and maybe if i tell them my plans for school and working with animals in the future they would take pitty on me.

any one know what tattoo / piercing shop receptionists make? thats really the only other interest i have. at least the only other employable interest. i don't think they make much though.
