xemowhorex's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well, shit. i got two e-mails today. one from the berkeley city college financial aide office. it says "There are certain documents you will need to submit to the Financial Aid Office in order to finalize your financial aid award." they need my tax forms from last year. but by the sound of the e-mail it seams like i'll be getting some kind of aide right? unless it's just a technicality, that because i applied they need copies of things to show that what i put on the form is accurate. so, yay! maybe. the second e-mail kind of indirectly affects the first. it was from the airport communication dispatcher trainee program. it said that i need to send them verification of my p.o.s.t test, my high school diploma, and my typing cert. then my application will be considered. this comes months after i put in the application. after i decided to take time off and go to school. i still really really want to go to school. but if i happen to get the airport job and it starts before school ends then i'll have to drop out. i have a history of dropping out of college. i really hate to do it this time. the airport job would pay insanely well though. so i feel like i can't just blow off the opportunity. my only comfort is that its a city job and city jobs have a notoriously long and grueling hiring process. so maybe it'll take 4 months, and i can at least finish this semester. then try to work around my schedule next semester. but i kind of doubt thats even possible becasue city dispatch jobs generaly have rotating shifts. i don't want to dispatch forever, but it would be really fucking stupid to pass up the airport job if it's offered. because it pays so well. so i'll be mailing off my verification things to them tomorrow and hopping beyond hope that a) i get the job, but b) not until mid december. that is the smart, responsible thing to do isn't it? god it sucks to be a grown up. 12:44 p.m. - Aug. 12th, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
