xemowhorex's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - it's more or less official. i still need to pay for everything, but i'm enrolled in classes. i'm hoping i can talk to the financial aide people and bring them my letter of termination and get some free school. i'm not too hopeful that that's going to work but we'll see. otherwise classes are $300 and books are adding up to between $280 - $315. any way, classes are elementary algebra, introduction to biology, english composition & reading, and u.s. history since 1865. the cool part is that the english and the history are some kind of nutty collaborative thing where the papers that i write for history also count for english. which i found to be really handy. all but math is on tuesday and thursday. so i'll be in classes for about 8 hours on those days. then i have math monday and wednesday in the mornings. i figured if i had the bulk of classes on the two days then i'd have more time for homework. but really it would be exactly the same abount of time. but this way i have bigger blocks of time, and that seamed like a good idea. plus on wednesday and saturdays i'd like to take the zoo ambasador/docent classes. depending on the zoo that starts in october or september. so i'll have a little time to see it that would be too much or not. parking is a bitch around the berkeley city college. no street parking any where reasonable, and garage parking is $15 for 4+ hours. so i was thinking maybe i'd ride my bike to school. (way to assimilate!) it's about 3 miles from my house. really that would be the best possible thing to do. for one it's free. for two one is bound to lose weight if they're riding a bike 6 miles 4 daya a week. however if i'm too fat for such feats of activity there's bart which is $3 round trip. so i think i'm set so long as i can manage to go ahead and not get a job until january at the earliest. 12:41 p.m. - Jul. 19th, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
