xemowhorex's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3 weeks got a call back from kaiser yesterday. they left a message saying that no one from my orientation class had been scheduled yet. that due to holidays and illness it's taking a little longer. asked that i call back in about 3 weeks. i guess that gives me a little more time to try to lose some weight at least. so apperantly ever other moth or so i go all gung ho get a new job. adn then a few days later i give up. oddly similar to my eating and exercize habits... but i digress. union city pd is hiring dispatch clerks. $4,328 a month to start. i've called prospects (adult education center in antioch) and talked to them about the typing test. it's $10 and i get to try as many times as i need to to get the score i need. so i'm going to go there friday. it might take me all day but i need to get 45 wpm. i'm being optimistic ehre but the last time i took the test there i didn't really type at all. and i was abel to get the 35 wpm that i needed at the time. sooo i'm hoping boyond hope that i can manage the 45. also the last time they didn't count any errors. which is amazing. another thing that has changed since the last time i was looking for work as a police dispatcher is that a lot of cities are out sourcing their testing. the aplicant has to go to this acadamy place to take the test and get the certificat that says you passed. next test is on the 4th. i'm going to have to call out sick. test starts at 10:30am. there are no available vacation days that corrospond to test date until something like november. really tehre really aren't any vacation days until something like september. i have a bad feeling that this is going to effect my wls process. it seams to me that you can't really be too picky about when they schedule your appointments. that if you don't take what you can get then you're not going to get your apointments for a very very long time. i think i'm going to see what is required to get certified. that way if i have to call out for an apointment then i can do so with out penalty. other problem is getting time off for the surgery. way i figure i'll need at least a month off. there is nothing even close to a month clear for vacation. i assume that there is some legal way to go about getting a leave of abcence or something. 7:46 a.m. - Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
