orientation

so i went to the 2 hour orientation. and pretty much they just told us a little about how our lives would change with the surgery, about the difference between rny and lapband, about support groups. they also told us that we were not yet accepted in to the program. that the bariatric team would review this 7 page questionnaire and get back to us in about 2 months or less to let us know if we had been accepted or not. they said that while waiting we should work on losing weight and changing habits, as well as getting any over due preventative type things done. such as pap smears and the like. they said that if in the past a sleep study had been requested that it needed to be done. but didn't say that every one needed to do it. also there was no mention of every one needing an anal probe. i'm not over due on anything. so i guess i just wait.

went on a run with my mom, aunt, other aunt, and uncle. we had planned on going to san simeon to hearst castle but some how only made it from my aunts house in santa rosa to san jose. so we went to see the winchester house instead. we also all stopped and got tattoos. great fun. mom's got her memorial tattoo touched up, as did my aunt karen. my aunt sandy got her memorial tattoo (for their parents). my uncle got a memorial tattoo for his grandmother who died recently. my mom also got a butterfly on her wrist. and i got the latin phrase "ad astra per aspera" across my wrists. on part on either side. it means to the stars through thorns/difficulties/adversity. i've wanted to get it for awhile and had planned on waiting until i lost some weight but since we were there i went for it.
